September & October Teaching Series

Two of the most important things in the life of a middle school student are friends and family... their FRAMILY. But sometimes the relationships that are most important to us are the most difficult to navigate. During our Framily series, we will unpack these important relationships and reveal hidden (or not so hidden) secrets for choosing good friends, getting along with parents and just about everything in between. Don't miss JHM these next five weeks as we discover together how to have an awesome Framily.

Join us Saturdays at 6pm or Sundays at 9am in the Event Center.

August Teaching Series

Branding- it’s everywhere. You can’t turn on the TV or drive down the street without seeing hundreds of ads and billboards. Companies spend millions of dollars trying to shape how YOU see THEM, developing their brand. But what about the Church? What are WE known for? Philippians chapter 2, has a lot to say about the way we love others. As we unpack this chapter, we discover that our love for people, both inside and outside the church, ultimately determines what we are known for—our brand.

Join us Saturdays at 6pm or Sundays at 9am in the Event Center.

July Teaching Series

We've all come across "that guy”…at the movie theater, at school, at the grocery store, maybe even at our own Life Group...the guy/girl who shows us more of how NOT to live our life instead of a good example to follow. The truth is, no one is perfect. We all make mistakes. But, sometimes we can learn just as much from “those guys” around us as we can from the good examples in our lives. For the next 5 weekends in JHM we are going to be taking a look at not-so-great examples in the Bible and have a lot of fun helping students discover how not to be "that guy."

Join us Saturdays at 6pm or Sundays at 9am in the Event Center.

May/June Teaching Series

Jesus seemed to make it pretty simple when it comes to what following Him would be all about: love God and love others as you love yourself. But this simple command gets a lot more complicated when we don’t see God, ourselves and others as we should. When we don’t see rightly, we don’t live rightly. So, how do we fix our broken view? How do we start living in a way that reflects Jesus’ intentions for our lives, and see the world the way we should? What we see is what we get. Join us in JHM over the next four weeks as we discover how we can see the right way.

Saturdays at 6pm and Sundays at 9:30am in the Event Center.

March Teaching Series

There is a crazy phenomenon that happens in the lives of many middle school students. Although we are not always sure of the cause, there does seem to be an increase in occurrences each year. For some it happens at their locker or in the hallway, for others it may occur at lunch or in math class. However, no matter the location the end result remains the same. You see that guy. You notice that girl. And before you know it, it hits you like a ton of bricks and you are suddenly…LOVESTRUCK! Our Lovestruck series will be dedicated to the most requested topic by our Jr. High students…relationships with the opposite gender! Throughout the month of March we hope to discover what God’s word says about relationships with the opposite gender, dating and how we can pursue His wisdom and purpose for this area of our lives. You won’t want to miss a single weekend of this series!

Important note to parents: We are always fully behind you on your decisions regarding your child and dating. The purpose of this series is to come alongside you and support you in those decisions. Our hope is that we will be able to provide your students with a godly perspective on relationships and challenge them to live that out. From a personal perspective, I don't think any Junior High student should be more than just friends with the opposite sex. Thanks for letting us partner with you in caring for your student!  - Becky Fitch, Jr. High Director

February Teaching Series

“You have to be perfect to go to church!”
“Being a Christian is easy…”
“Christians aren't allowed to have any fun!!”

There are a lot of different things that are said about Jesus Christ and his followers. Unfortunately, many of them are myths. Throughout the month of February we are going to discuss a few of these myths and try to understand how we can better represent the truth about the God we follow. Middle School students are looking for a church full of real people. We believe the church should be the most genuine, consistent, and welcoming place for any person in any walk of life. Join us this month as we discover how to be Mythbusters  in a world that is in search of something they can count on.

January Teaching Series

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7

When we begin a relationship with Jesus Christ, we aren’t crossing a finish line, but the starting line. The Apostle Paul knew this more than anyone. The Amazing Race of his life was filled with turmoil, confusion, pain, faithfulness, service, community and so much more. However, the entire time Paul ran, his focus and goal was Jesus Christ.

Throughout the month of January we are going to discuss this Amazing Race we are running. Students will learn the importance of being connected in smaller community, the call to reach their friends for Jesus Christ, what it means to serve those around us, and what this race leads to when we run it with eyes fixed on Christ.

The Amazing Race is going to be a series that connects with people in different places of the journey. We are confident some students will cross the starting line for the first time while others will race with new fervor and passion as they get closer and closer to their Creator. January is going to be a great month, DO NOT MISS THIS!!!

Join us in the Event Center, Saturdays at 6pm or Sundays at 9:30am.
