Hey Everyone,

Can you believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away? It is amazing how fast the holiday season goes by. With that in mind, I want to remind you of the challenge I gave you on Sunday, to live this Christmas season in an intentional and God honoring way. This week we are going to continue our Christmas series, by looking at the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Specifically we will be asking how that sacrifice should determine how we celebrate Christmas.

This is going to be a great time that you are not going to want to miss.

Speaking of great times, make sure to register for Xmas Xtravaganza. It is next week! Check the blog below for more information.

XMAS XTRAVAGANZA

Hey!

Our first annual Xmas Xtravaganza is only a couple of weeks away. We will be celebrating Christmas together as a junior high on December 19th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm in the event center. The cost of the event is $3 bucks, and includes a bunch of food and some awesome Christmas prizes. Make sure to register online, so that we can make sure to save you a spot.

Don't forget to bring a goofy, weird, or funny gift for the white elephant gift exchange. I will tell you more about white elephant gifts this Sunday! They are awesome!

Also this a great time to bring a friend!

December 13th Service Project

December Service Project

What? We will be serving hot turkey meals to those who are less fortunate. Specifically to the elderly, and physically challenged that live in the district around City Impact.

When? December 13th - Meet at Cornerstone @ 8a.m. and we will be returning at 5p.m.

Where? San Francisco - We will be partnering with City Impact Ministry located at 230 Jones Street.

Why? To shower those less fortunate with love

Winter Camp Jan 23rd-25th! Only 165

There is nothing like waking up to the snow falling outside, the air crisp on your cheeks... and your friend EATING IT off of a jump and having the video to prove it!

I hope your stoked about Winter Camp this year because WE ARE! Join us at Jenness Park, January 23rd-25th for the most awesome weekend of your life! The trip costs $165 and scholarships are available. Register online as soon as possible!

Gratitude and Generosity

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a little over two weeks away! Personally I love Thanksgiving. I love everything about it. I love that I get to hang out with family and friends, I love that Thanksgiving goes hand in hand with football, and of course I love Thanksgiving dinner. Above all of that though, I love that we have a day set apart for us to be thankful for the things God has blessed us with. But here’s the thing with being thankful, being truly thankful should lead us to being generous. Let me say that again our gratitude should lead us to generosity. As a ministry we want to live out our gratitude through the way we are generous with what God has given us. One way that we have decided to do this is by providing 75 families with Thanksgiving dinner. In order to do this WE NEED YOUR HELP. We are asking you to donate what we need for each basket. We will be collecting the material on Sundays and Thursdays.

Here is what each basket needs:

1 Gift Certificate for a Turkey ($20 grocery gift card)
2 Canned Cranberry Sauce
2 Canned Green Beans
1 Box of Mashed Potatoes
1 Box of Stuffing
1 Package/Jar of Gravy Mix
2 Canned Yams
1 Boxed Dessert
2 Corn Muffin Mix
2 Sparkling Cider

Each basket costs between $40 and $50.

This could be the most awesome Junior High girl event ever! Pops and Jocks Annual Turkey Bowl

Alright Junior high guys and dads it is almost time for a new tradition in the Junior High ministry at Cornerstone, our annual father and son flag football game. This year's game will be held at Christensen Middle school Saturday November 15th from 10am-1pm. Kids if your dad can't make it that's ok we still want you to be there. After the game we are going to eat together. Don't forget to bring a friend!
