For the month of November, instead of having a Big Group event, each of the JHM Life Groups will be completing a service project together. Service projects are an awesome way to connect with your peers and leaders while serving the community and helping others out.
Each Life Group has picked a service project that is important to them. Some groups are putting together gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child, other groups are dressing up as Ninjas and secretly delivering food and grocery store gift cards to families who are in need. There are a lot of different ways that we can serve and make a difference and the JHM service projects give you an opportunity to do just that! Connect with your Life Group leader to find our more info on the specific service project that your Life Group is doing.
If you aren't currently connect in a Life Group we would still love for you to be a part of one of the many different service projects that will be going on. We’ve all heard the saying “Sticks & Stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” Well, words hurt. Jesus tells us in Luke 6 that “out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” The words we say and the things we communicate can not only be hurtful but is a good indicator of where our heart is at. Throughout the month of November we are going to invite students to take a serious look at the words they speak. Anger, Lying, and Judgment are all sources of hurt and pain for the people around us and our own heart. Join us as we discover how to let the words we speak bring hope, not hurt.
