December Teaching Series
Dozens of movies have been written, hundreds of pictures have been painted, thousands of songs have been sung and a countless number of plays have been performed, all surrounding one story. The Christmas Story is perhaps the most popular story ever told. So is there anything more we can learn from a story that we have heard a thousand times? During the month of December, JHM students will take a new look at an old story. We’ll go behind the scenes of the Christmas Story, look at the key players and see how their roles in the Christmas events can still impact us today. Join us, over the next four weeks, as we study together one of the greatest stories ever told: A Christmas Story.

June Teaching Series
Kickin It Old School
Have you ever thought the Old Testament to be a bit boring? If so, you’re probably not alone. With so much history, numbers, and names that no one can pronounce it’s tempting to just skim over it. I mean, what could a Junior Higher possibly have in common with people that lived over 3,000 years ago? Actually, a lot more than you might think!
Over the next four weeks in Junior High Ministry we are going to be “Kickin It Old School” and studying real-life stories from the Old Testament. We’ll take a look at ordinary people who God used in some pretty extraordinary ways. There are a lot of important things we can learn through studying these stories and in the end you might just realize you have a thing or two in common with these Old School heroes.

April Teaching Series
Cooties to Cuties
Since the beginning of time, every individual has fallen under its spell. No one is really sure when it starts or exactly what causes it. Scientists have determined that it has something to do with a combination of springtime and the junior high age, but don't know much more beyond that. It's when that guy or girl in your class mysteriously transitions from a potential cootie outbreak, to a down right cutie. Over the next three weeks, JHM is going to look at the transition for Cooties to Cuties, and see what God has to tell us about healthy relationships.
Important note to parents: We are always fully behind you on your decisions regarding your child and dating. The purpose of this series is to come alongside you and support you in those decisions. Our hose is that we would be able to provide your students with a godly perspective on relationships and challenge them to live that out. From a personal perspective, I don't think any Junior High student should be more than just friends with the opposite sex. Thanks for letting us partner with you in caring for your student!

"At the last Big Group my Life Group, Livermore 8th grade boys, won the Big Group Games. We had to do different Christmas related challenges, like chugging a carton of eggnog, building a gingerbread house, and lots of other fun stuff. We won every one of those challenges. Our group broke the Dublin girls winning streak of the 2 previous Big Groups, which was another cool accomplishment. The Livermore 8th grade boys did a great job and are counting on being just as strong at the next big group."

WINTER CAMP!!
An Aweful Life examines what it looks like to live a awe inspired life of worship based on an understanding of God’s mercy through Jesus Christ.
We were created to worship God and be in awe of who He is. If we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that our lives are an act of worship, however, too often that worship goes to celebrities, leaders in the church or ourselves instead of to the One who is truly worthy. When we look at who God is and the gift of His son Jesus, we should fall to our knees and be in awe that God, in his great mercy, desires to be in a relationship with us. This should cause us to respond by offering all that we are back to him as a living sacrifice, a life that is set apart from the world and acceptable to God. A life lived in awe of who God is.
An Aweful Life takes a look at the lives of individuals who have learned to live each moment in awe of God’s mercy. We will learn what day to day worship is, and seek out practical ways we can offer our bodies to God as a living sacrifice.
Theme Verse:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers an sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
